Tree Removal

Sometimes a tree can't be saved, or shouldn't be. Dead, diseased, storm-damaged, or structurally unsound trees can pose a real risk to your home, your family, and your neighbors. Removal is sometimes the safest option. Other times, there's no health or safety issue at all — you simply want a tree gone, whether it's blocking a view, overtaking your yard, or just not what you want anymore. That's a perfectly valid reason too, and the same rules apply either way.

Removal isn't always as simple as cutting a tree down, though. Depending on where the tree is and how big it is, San Francisco may require a permit before it can be removed, even on your own property. Other cities may have similar rules. Skipping that step can mean costly fines or having to replant at your own cost.
